Cool I got my 2012 today and it did something wierd on the way home.....

It actually had the power to pass a vehicle! I am loving the difference in power and throttle response compared to my 2010. Well worth it so far! I'm going to head up Eisenhower pass this week to give it a true 14K foot test.

Are you guys in an auto or 6- speed? Did you have autos or 6-speed 2010s? Very interested.

Haha.. I was amazed how quickly the '12 I demoed got to highways speeds. I mean it was still somewhat slow, but just the fact that I could merge safely by the time I got the the end of the on-ramp was amazing. Do let us know how it handles the terrain up there. I'm eyeing a relocation the Lakewood area in the next year and I'm curious how the '12 handles getting up all the passes.

all the very best to the OP in his new 12...
as we say over here...'may the road rise up to meet you'...

if i can just expand this thread a little i must say...

i read these threads all the time about how the 3.8 is no use...
how they can't make highway speeds...how they can't merge...

i have come to the conclusion that it's all different in the US...
that the culture of driving is different because of BIG MOTORS...

i'm guessing that people drive with more spirit in america...
and that means more acceleration and more speed...

because in my 3.8 2dr i'm always first off the ramp...
i'm always first up to 70mph...
i always 'pop' all the cars in front and hit the fast lane first...
and i'm in the auto...which does slow me down a bit...

i've never really got this '3.8 is rubbish' deal...
it's not a sportscar...it's a Jeep...and it's not that slow imho ...

I dont get it either and I am in the states, I have owned 9 Jeeps including late model 4.0 TJs and none of them were fast. I have a '10 Rubi with a six speed and it is a typical Jeep.

Nice! I'm thinking with the P-star we might finally see Jeeps making left turns on a banked track with the other NASCAR boys. Can't wait to see the Quadratec sponsored JK taking the pole position. Seriously, did you buy a Jeep with the intent to zip around like an 18 year old in a souped-up ricer?

Congrats on your new Jeep! Im not bashing the pre-12's but the 12 is QUICK! Ive had mine a bit over a week and just passed 500 miles so yesterday I ran it flat out a couple of times. Off the line its very quick. Where it really surprised me was passing a car and semi that were doing 50mph on a 2 lane highway. I floored it and as I got around the semi I looked down and we were crossing 90mph and still climbing! My wife looked at me and said "WOW"! I just grinned.

Can an 11 do that? Dont know, dont care. Im having fun in mine.

And yes I know its a JEEP! This was on the return trip from Badlands where I had tons of Jeep fun for hours in the dirt, in low range, all below 15mph. But why shouldnt the fun continue on the trip home?

I hope the year wars end soon, but I know they wont.
