Because they can according to my dealer who had a boatload of 2012's lined up with them. I asked the salesmen who approached me about articulation and he simply chuckled and said these wont ever see any off road time and we make a ton more money selling them like this... He wasn't joking The Arctic clocked in at $40K and the 2 doors were all over $30 (they were the basic "Sport" model) They also had the new Jeep Green color whatever it's called fully DECKED out with a winch mopar bumpers, aux lights , and a ton of other stuff. I didn't bother to check the $ on that one though.
And in all fairness I take back what I initially said about the Blue color, it's a lot darker in person and looks really good up close.

Lol pretty optomistic of them to assume that people won't go offroad and tear those things off. I couldn't wait for my lift and put my 35s on a few weeks early, those fenders probably won't even survive a gravel road.

I'd be more curious to see if they would have the tailgate problems/warranty voided with that big a tire hanging on the tailgate straight from the dealer
Also, looks like they'd rub on a speed bump ?

Wow that's ridiculous, I have a 2" bb with extended bumps tops and just threw on some 35's. If there was even a half in. Difference in my lift or bump stop I would be in the fender when flexed, I was really amazed that I didnt have to trim anything. My wheels are also 3.75" BS which saves me also
