I also have the safari top with the duster. If you have the door surrounds I would think it would keep you very dry, asside from the stuff that blows in from the vaccuum that follows you. We dont get much rain here but the I can say it would be great.

I don't have the door surrounds(hard top only). Would it really be that bad to run it without the surrounds? I hear those surrounds are quite expensive and I'd rather not buy them if I don't have to.

Only if you consider a 1" gap between the doors and the top bad. I run mine w/o doors all the time and got it just for shade and some rain protection if I get caught in a storm.

I don't have door surrounds. $Big Bucks!

I went to Home Depot and bought black pipe insulation. I cut it to the length of each door top and stuck it between rollcage and bikini top. It fills in the gap nicely and looks better. Not water proof, but an improvement.

Just take your hard top panel off and close the door and see if you'd be okay with the gap in a rain storm. The foam thingy would help.

I think a OEM softop without the windows in it would seem to be a better/cheaper way to go than trying to do a duster, windjammer, safari, and all the necessary pieces from the dealer (if you have only the hard top) and keeping most of the rain out. Keep your eye on the classifieds. Lots of soft tops have gone through there.

Or you can take a chance with the other soft top option out there.

I like the duster for keeping sun/rain/dust out but mostly sun and dust since it doesnt rain much here. The safari comes off quick and rolls up in the back. I did run the soft top no windows last year and its okay too. I like having all the options and rotate around. Keeps things interesting. Eventually I will settle on something.

I like the hardtop for a little security and rainy/cold winter months.

Then I switch to soft top for wheeling and other little trips.

No top or safari (when its really hot) for most of the remaining year.
