I have the sill gaurds and have been stuck in a hole where the water was up to about the bottom door hinge, had to sit there a few minutes while the tow strap was hooked up and the the carpet was a little damp around the bottom of the door but nothing major.

The fan is also a weak point because it is not sealed. Water isn't as bad as it getting clogged with mud. And I have to ask, why are you worried about water seeping in under the door? You should take your carpet out when you wheel anyways, even if you aren't worried about keeping it clean. It smells awful when it is damp. And it goes in and out so easy, there is no reason to leave it in and take a chance of moisture seeping in through the rubber and getting it wet.

also, extend your tranny/transmission/front/rear diff breathers. It is cheap and easy insurance. Ask me how if you have any questions finding them.

I'm not necessarily worried about water entering, just curious how well the doors seal.

Already taken care of. It is as high as it can go.

Don't forget the breather on your evap can. It goes to your gas tank intake area.

I have done a crossing to about even with my fenders and i have about 3 " of lift. (I started backing out when I saw the ass end of the 4 door in front of me start floating...he had a snorkel, not me) When I went that deep I had water come up from the bottom of my shifter..I actually saw it pouring in from there....mine is a 6 speed. By the time I had gotten out and stopped I had about 4 inches of water in my footwells.
Here is the thread from that experience:

Where exactly does it go? Near the filler neck?
I haven't heightened that one yet.

nor have i, but i try to keep my gas cap above water as it is not sealed and can let water in. But you gotta think, if ur gas cap is below water, that is some pretty deep water. I would never purposefully (sp?) go into water that deep!

Mine leaked last time, but I found that one of the plugs was not in correctly and one was not sealed due to sound deadening material caught in it. Check yours first.

We have had ours in water to the top of the underside of the fender flairs...and stayed completely dry!
