6 speed manual 1st gear take off
This is my 1st JK I have the 2012 arctic edition stock 3.73 rear differential ratio. I was wondering if turing off the hill assist make it easier to take off on a hill without stalling. I've driven allot of standard but this seems to take off easier at a higher RPM than most other standards I've driven. I abosolutly love it. Just found out how to turn the hill assist off thanks to everyone here. But have not gone out and fully tested it yet. Any info would be much appriciated

I'm sure there has already been a post on this topic but I figured it bares repeating!
If you're like me, and you know how to drive a manual transmission, the hill assist feature on our JK's could be more bothersome than helpful. Well I have the remedy for the disease of the HSA feature!
[vehicle has to be on a level surface to perform deactivation of the HSA]
1. Start with the engine off and vehicle in PARK (automatic
transmission) or NEUTRAL with clutch out
(manual transmission) with wheels straight. Apply parking
brake on manual transmission vehicle.
2. Start the engine.
3. With the engine running, the brake applied, and the
clutch out, rotate the steering wheel 180° counterclockwise
from center.
4. Press the ESC OFF switch four times within twenty
seconds.
5. Rotate the steering wheel 360° clockwise (180° clockwise
from center).
6. Cycle ignition switch OFF then ON.
7. If the sequence was completed properly, the “ESC
Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light” will blink several
times to confirm HSA is off.
Steps 1-7 must be completed within 90 seconds to turn off
HSA. Repeat steps 1-7 to re-enable HSA functionality. I love it!!
