I bought my first Jeep last May at 43 years old, brand new JK sport s 2 door. I wanted a jeep in HS but never could afford one. A good friend of mine in HS had an old CJ, we would ride to school in it, he had a bikini top in the spring and fall.
I will warn you though, you may think you'll be happy driving it around stock however the jeep bug will find you and bite you, when it does there's little hope.
At 44, I've never owned anything on 4 wheels this much fun. Doorless, topless, paved or offroad, this jeep can do it all.
After 10 months of ownership here's mine.

I've ordered my first JKU last week and will have it in June for my 53th birthday.
It's very expensive to own a JKU in France due to gaz price and extra taxes for big engine, so I could not afford it before.
It will be my main car for everyday drives (I'm 5 miles from work) and my wife has an electric car...
My first wish was a Land Rover because it's more affordable here, but they stop production last year.
In any case owning a Jeep was a dream I had since I was young and it's time to realize my dream !

My wife and i are 70. This is our second jeep, we've had it since 2012. Our first was a TJ. We go off road as much as we can, we live in Texas and go to the hill country and summer in Colorado and run lots of trails. This will be our 3rd trip to Moab and are looking forward to it in Mid September 2017.
