How old are you? Is JK for all ages?

Jeep Appeal
New JKs are expensive, even for the base model which people only buy if they are going to lift it and add new wheels and tires. So that means a certain income which is easier to afford either just before children or afterwards. Me, I'm in the afterwards category, though I also bought a TJ in 1999 when I had some surprise extra cash. It had a 4.5" Rubicon Express lift and large tires, I don't think I will do that this time as serious wheelin' places are not as available as before. I like JKs because I can customize mine more than just putting a Jack in the Box head on end of the the antenna.
I bought mine this time with the Sport package and hard top, auto, and bluetooth for around $30k and immediately added another $1k of mostly cosmetic additions though I did add some Besttop Soft Doors. I will go ahead and swap out wheels and tires and a very minimal lift (enough for 33" tires), which is another $2k or so. Then a CB & firestick for $100, and I have something that is a good off-roader even if can't compete with the gnarly rock-crawlers.
So it will take me around the many thousands of miles of Texas dirt roads, go wherever I want in Big Bend National Park and Padre Island National Seashore, with optional roof, optional doors - quiet enough to get close to a flock of wild turkeys, some road runners, javelinas, or a herd of cows in an unfenced cattle grid area. And that, all that, I enjoy. So as soon as I could I bought a JK.

38, DD, 2014 JKURX. 2nd Jeep. 1st was 01' Cherokee.
I've wanted a JKU since they came out. Tried to trade my wife's Volvo xc90 and she backed out on me. I had to have one so bad I ended up trading my truck. Best trade I've ever made!!! We drive my Jeep everywhere and the Volvo sits in the drive!

24. I've had 2 YJs, a Commanche, and a JKU. The old man has 5 or 6 CJs that were used as farm trucks that I grew up driving since I was around 10. Couldn't imagine driving anything but a Wrangler at any age

I'm 33 I own a 2011 JK Sport Auto trans soft top, which I purchased new in 2011...for $25K! I have put upwards of $7.5k into upgrades and I still want to do more they are money pits. My only suggestion is if you are modifying your JK to do it right the first time not to buy something and then wish you had a different product instead. I'm speaking from personal experience! If you want to run 35" tire be prepared for worse MPG's than what you already get. Also look into your states laws if your state has an inspection you will need to see what mods will make it Incompliant with those laws....for example I moved to Hawaii and they have a state inspection and recon inspection any vehicle that has been modified from stock form must be compliant I purchased ACE Tube Fender Flares (Narrow) the problem is in Hawaii the tread must be covered by you fender and I have 7.5" of exposed front tire....I just purchased new ACE (Wide) fenders and now I can be inspected...so be cautious and careful when modifying your rig!
