USAA and Buying
Thanks for the service! USAA is the way to go. I'm at Quantico (contractor), used USAA to negotiate. After that, chrysler was giving $1,000 off of that negotiating price. I ended up going through Safford in Fredricksburg, as my parents have bought 2 cars and a Jeep (that they built) from them and they tend to take good care of us. PM me if you're in the at Quantico and want to know the man to talk to down there.
But with USAA, once you find your Jeep, the dealership will call you and set you up with someone waiting for you when you get there. It's definitely the best way to go. It'd be tough to negotiate better than USAA does.

Heading to Huffines in Lewisville tomorrow... we agreed $500 below invoice + 1000 USAA promo... not as good as the deals in Dunn, NC but much lower than truecar.com.
I just finished cleaning my 350z and putting all the service records together, if we can agree on a fair trade in price then I'll be the proud owner of a JK unlimited sometime next week!... if not oh well on to the next dealership or trying to sell my Z on craigslist.

I talked to Meador but they didn't have anything in the configuration I wanted. Most dealers via USAA seem to be trying to go off what they have on the lot and not order something. However I have called several other jeep dealers in the DFW area and they all have some sort of USAA pricing and say they can give me the $1000 off as well, not just the recommended dealers that come up on USAA's webpage.

I tried using usaa on my new 2010 but it was end of model year time and no one had my basic configuration specs. I ended up finding one I wanted and got a sweet deal at another dealership. I say just look and look to find what you want.

Are you currently deployed to the middle east? I'm a Marine currently deployed and I bought through the Navy Auto Sales program. It's a GREAT deal. You go to the Jeep website and build the Jeep you want. Then send a copy of the summary page to the email address at the website. They ask for your orders to verify your deployed and shoot you back a quote based on the Jeep you built. I built a new Sport S with all the options I wanted. It came out to $30,580.00 MSRP. After all the rebates and special pricing, my final price was $25,750.00! I got over $4800 off in rebates and special pricing! Way better than any deal I've been able to find to include Tread Lightly. My Jeep will be delivered one week after I get home. You pick the dealer you want it delivered to. It only costs $500 to get your price locked in. You have until you take delivery to figure out the financing, or you can let the dealer you pick it up from figure out your financing when you pick it up (I'd recommend getting it squared away through NavyFed though... 1.79% for 60 mos right now). State taxes and fees aren't included either of course, and are based on whatever state you register the vehicle in. Here is the website...

***Edit: Here is the site for Exchange New Car Sales... It's all the same, but this is for those deployed that aren't aboard a ship... http://ww w.encs.com
Check it out. There are all sorts of other benefits to that you can read about on the website. If you're still deployed you should have time still. I handled it all via email. Gave them a credit card # over the email to pay the $500 down and everything. Got it all done in two days. The hardest part is going to be the wait to have your Jeep built! Good luck!

Buy on the last day of the month
it's always best to purchase on the last day of the month... you should never pay more than invoice less the dealer "Holdback" which is usually
between $500-$1000 depending on the vehicle model.
Invoice - holdback = Best Price!!

FYI...if you are looking for a rubicon USAA is changing their pricing so they took that model off of their website so you can not get pricing for it right now. I was told they would have it back up on Saturday.
