I just have to vent:

I had someone that was going to come pick up my rims and tires for $450. He had arranged a time to come.

Someone contacted me to buy just the rims, but needed them right away, wanted them the day before this guy was supposed to come. I wanted to wait for the guy that wanted both. Sure enough, he flaked with no notice and the guy that wanted the rims got them from someone else.

ARGH!!!

I thought about selling the tires separately because it seems like lots want the tires, but not the rims. Then I would get stuck holding on to the rims for a while though.

I sold my stock Duelers on 18" Sahara wheels with 40K miles for $375, bought a set of 2012 SRAs on stock 17"s for $200.

I then bought another set of Sahara wheels and tires for $150 with half tread and sold those for $425.

BUT I see the stock SRA's going for anywhere from $400-$650 on CL. I only use CL for my buying and selling.

last week, i sold the goodyear's off of my 2010 jku w/ 12,8xx miles for $250. i sold them the next morning to a used jeep dealer/ mechanic... i thought i was going to be sitting on the tires for a while. I was very happy to have them out of my basement. I bought rubi takeoff m/t's w/ 400 miles for $600.

Sweet! Just sold mine!

$450 on Craig's list, no TPMS sensors. 1300 miles on them.

I'm THAT much closer to getting my lift now.

I'm surprised... it doesn't seem like many of you contacted your local offroad/Jeep shop (if you're lucky enough to have one local). My dealer is partnered with an offroad shop on site. The shop is giving me $125 credit for each wheel. That's for the wheels, tires, and TPMS taken directly off the Jeep with zero miles. I'm having the shop do some work before I even take delivery. $625 for all five of my stock 17" Sport S wheels seemed reasonable to me. I've heard of people getting more on Craigslist, but seems hit or miss and this way I don't have to hassle with it. $625 is a nice little chunk of change to be knocked off the bill!

And the offer isn't on the table only because I'm having work done there either. It's not the first time I've heard of a dealer or shop buying stock wheels off folks so they can sell them as upgrades to folks buying Jeeps with the stock 16" wheels.

When I bought my 2 door x they had the rubicon take offs. The sales guy told me they threw them on because I called in for a test drive. He said he would adjust the price for the tires being an option. They added 1000 bucks from when i first called. So I told them to put the stock ones back on and drop the price back to what I was told on the phone..... Few minutes of me being smart with what i say and they left the wheels on the jeep. I then talked them down lower then what they told me on the phone.

I pulled the TPMS out and sold all (5) back to the dealer for $500. Tires had approx 2K miles.
I was happy cause it was about the same on CL and i didn't have to sit on them at all.
