Sorry to say but I understood that the 07 Sahara was the only year to get the 4.10 after that it was a Rubi only option. ( I could be wrong though). I can definitely say my 07 Sahara Jku runs at about 2500 and I have the 6spd. I would kill to have my RPM's that low at that speed, and still have the offroad performance of the 4.10. So if it is a DD with little to no wheeling count yourself lucky. Cheers

Today pulled a 2500lb boat , 12 mpg at 65 mph, came home no boat 75 mph, 19.2. They say you can tow 3500 but that does not mean you should. Tugger was much happier coming home empty. (2011 rubi unlimited)

Calculated the last tank of gas.. my mpg was 19.8

3.21 gears, 285/70/17, Superchips, MBRP Cat-back, all on a 2-door

I was getting about 17 mpg before Superchips. If I calculated right, it will take about 15,000 miles worth of driving for the Superchips to pay for itself.

Default Gas Mileage & Tire Size

What's your MPG? Any tips on improving your miles per gallon while this gas prices soar back up again? Even if my mpg was about 8 or 9, I would still drive my jk as my daily driver.
I have a 2009 JK Rubicon 4 door with heave all-steel front & Rear Bumpers & winch (extra weight) . When I run my 35x12.5 tires I get 14 mpg at best on the freeway. Yes, I used my superchips to change the tire size for the odometer. When I put the smooth street tires (not all terrain) on, I get 18.7 mpg on the freeway at 70-75mph. I now change my tires when I go off road. However, its looks really cool with the big tires and wimpy with the street tires. I.e. you have to pay for the looks...As you know by now, Jeeps are not know for good gas mileage.

Calculated over all average over 63,000 miles for my '08 JKUR with 255/80-17 BFG MT is 17.32 mpg. This obviously includes everything, from trails to interstate, trailer towing and about two months of driving with a foul spark plug where my mileage was down to mid 15 etc. Let's see how my '12 will do in compare.
