Let the oil flow before you punch a cold engine if you want your jeep to last

What is up with those choices for time allowed?!$! I've lived in northern VT, NH, and Maine most all my life -- it would NEVER occur to me to start a car and let it run UNLESS it was outside during an icing event where I would start it and start scraping the glass -- otherwise --> START -- Count to 5 -- GO! Just take it really slow for the first few miles is best...

Since my jk is lucky enough to have a warm garage bay, I rarely let it warm up. However, since I've started having the 1st-2nd gear grinding, I've let it warm up for a few minutes to see if it helps.... so far it hasn't.

So the majority of the time, I'll let it warm up maybe 1-2 minutes.

I live in FL so the coldest it gets here in the day is maybe 40. I just let the engine idle for about 30 seconds so that there is some oil on the parts and then I go. I don't push it hard until the engine idle goes down to about normal.

I only do on cold mornings (15-30 degrees) to let the heat warm the inside. I try to start it about 10 minutes before I leave.
