The 2012 minivan SUV such as the Dodge Journey is only getting about 25 highway with the 3.6. Although they still weigh in at 4200 or so, they have much better aerodynamics.

I think it would be tough to do.

Yea ! My thoughts as well ! The only reason that 25 is on the window stickers I'm sure is with the 16s 225 stock steelies & 3.21 gears ... Then I'd maybe think it could happen ! At 60 on cruise for the entire tank maybe then ! Remember people ! We drive bricks !

Where do you live? On flat highway at 60mph I bet you could get close if my '08 Rubicon can pull 19. Hills of any pitch will wreck mileage.

Haven't seen much evidence that the '12 gets much better or worse mileage than the '11. Drivers and tires seem to make more difference than 3.8 vs. Pentastar.

If I fill up my stock '11 JK (details below) and reset the mpg as I hit the freeway driving exactly 60mph with cruise control, it will climb past 26 mpg and stay there until I get off the freeway. This only works when traffic is light. If traffic keeps me from holding a steady speed, mpg will drop right away. This is at sea level.

You are driving a brick on top of a brick. The only way to get upper 20-s for mileage would be to swap in a Prius motor.

First off, what's wrong with a PRius? My wife drives on. She is a stay at home mom, and that means she does not stay at home. 47 mpg is perfect for her. We took a trip to Fl 2 years ago for $165 round trip in gas, adn a trip to AZ this year for $208 round trip. Wish I had my jeep when we went to AZ though.

Anyway, I have a 2021 JKU sport S with 255's and 3.73's. I got it Sunday 11/19 and I have put almost 1200 miles on it. I use miles keeper on my ipone, and I have put the last 2 fill ups in there. I am getting 22.6 mpg average per tank. Some of that is 65-70 mph and some is town driving. I take back roads (cause i like them) so I drive 55 and 60 when I can as well. You might be able to get 25 in a 2 door with 3.21's and stock S tires. You will have to work at it.

I would recomend getting the 3.73's with limited slip, and just take your time going to work. the extra 8 minutes will be time well spent in your jeep and yield a little better mileage (22-23). But you wont enjoy your jeep if 25 mpg is your goal.

Get 3.21's on your 2012, keep is stock, and keep it UNDER 65. If so...you might be able to get 24 mpg on the highway depending on where you live.
