How likely is 25mpg from a 2012?
I am still looking at a 2012 Sport 2door 6speed for my main daily driver. I have a 30 mile (each way) 65mpg (I go 70mph) commute all highway except for the first and last miles. How well will the stock Jeep do as far as mpg on this route? I am thinking of getting the 3.73 gears and the S package and keeping it at that without any big mods.

I just did a quick search and could only find one truck that even comes close to 25mpg+ highway (Ford Ranger) and I would take the Jeep Wrangler any day over those.
Not sure why everyone buying a Jeep is so hung up on gas. It is not the worst in class and you I can't see people in the market thinking fuel economy if you are buying a SUV/TRUCK/JEEP.
btw .. my AWD car takes 93 and gets 18/22 - I should end up flat the gas cost considering the Jeep will run just fine with 87 octane

Just want to have my cake and eat it too...its a reality we have to deal with. Most people can only afford one vehicle, and it would suck to have to drive a Prius! 21 is very good, I have no complaints about that relative to what other vehicles get on regular unleaded!

well my friend , I have a 2012 2dr 6 spd 3.73s Hardtop sport.. sounds like where you want to be right ? i only have 522 miles on it (some people have claimed mpg gets better as it gets more miles) i don't know how true this is, Im not there yet .... I just drove about 150 miles yesterday. Cruise control 65 the whole time . I put gas in before & when i got home ,seen 19.5 MPG ... on dash & on paper... so time will tell for me any better . But 25, i can confidently say it WONT happen, unless you find a very steep hill 300 miles long and sit in neutral

If people are getting 20 to 21 with new 2012s, I can see it being possible to hit a higher number after the tires are worn down some.
With my 2011 3.8 Rubi I just got 20.6 between Houston and Dallas. At 15k miles the mud tires have much less rolling resistance than when new. Also kept it at 70mph and used cruise control. Tires at 37 psi. I could easily get up to 22.5 MPG if I inflated the tires up to around 45.
