Default How to get WAY BETTER MPGs

On a resent road trip from Houston to Austin Texas I drove the speed limit ,70 w/cruise set and the over-drive turned off and got a disappointing 12.2 mpg from calculations not the JKs computer. On the return trip I set my cruise at 60 and increased my mileage to a much more comfortable 17.1. With gas being almost $4 a gallon that's an ass-load of savings. Try it, You'll like it !

' Oh ' By the way, I have a 4 door w/ a 4'' lift, 35s and a winch w/ steel bumpers weighing me down.

I recently drove from Little Rock to Birmingham and got 17.6 at the end of the trip.
I reset the MPG computer at every fill up and leave the overdrive on. My speedo is off when compared to my GPS, so I set the cruise 75 by the GPS, 77-78 on the dash.
I didn't manually calculate, since the speedo is off so is my odometer. Thought about having it recalibrated but its not showing as many miles as I have actually driven so I figure I'm extending my warranty.

I'm driving a unlimited Rubicon, with hard top on.

Yep..I drive on the freeway at 70mph by the speedo and gps calculations.

I keep te cruise control one. After I broke in the engine, added the Cold Air intake and the exhaust, i can get about 22 mpg on flat terrain.

overall I on the highway I get about 20-24 mpg depending on the terrain.

really good to drive like this if going on a long trip.

This morning I had to drive to LA from San Diego. All freeway driving. Going 65mph with the cruise on and the A/C off, I got 22.2 mpg. On the return trip I had the A/C on and got 21.1 mpg. Details: 2008 "X" 4 door hard top. Auto tranny and 3.73 gear ratio.

No doubt, the way/speed you drive will have a much bigger impact on economy than any gizmos you can bolt on or dump in your tank
