How do I know which front axle I have?

Most likely you have the dana 44 rear end. I think some earlier models had a dana 35 in the rear for the two door models but they switched them all to 44's.

I have a 2008 model so I would assume I have the Dana 44's then.

Is there anything printed on the axle that says which DANA I have... great topic!

I don't know about where to find anything thing in print but it's pretty simple. The X and Sahara have 30 fronts and 44 rears, while the Rubi has 44 front and rear.

I think the later production 2 door X with auto trans has the Dana 35 still. I remember seeing it on the build sheets as "late availability", as if anyone would actually want that.

you'll be fine, everyone is lifting there X's with 35's. Not very many problems
