Default How can I protect my jeep in winter?

My jeep has a soft top, not used very often in winter and is parked outside. I live in the northeast so I have to deal with cold and snow. Any suggestions on how to protect it other than a car cover? My last one ripped after a few years and it wasn't cheap. I would get another one but I am exploring other options first. Thanks for your help.

Maybe invest in a used hard top? They're on Craigslist all the time. I live in the Great Lakes region; the winters are hard on my Jeep. I keep the hard top on during the cold months and the soft top on when it's warmer.
