Default Highway MPG?

Hey guy I have a 07 Rubi JKU and get about 19 mpg on the highway going 65 in 6th gear, is there a way to improve that? Maybe drive at a faster speed? Any help would be awesome!

Don't go over 80 or your MPG's will take a turn for the worst

Drive 55. lol, but really not joking.

from MD to Mi I get 16.5-18.5 (mountains-flat land) and that's going 75-80mph. However when I was driving in the upper peninsula going 55, I was gettin 20.5-21mpg.

I dunno, 19mpg at 65mph in a 3.8 sounds pretty good to me.

That's about what I get at sea level at 70 mph. If I go any faster, my MPGs go down significantly.

At 65 mph I get about 22-23mpg. I have the 3.8 with a catback exhaust 3.73 auto.

That's about where I run as well with the same setup. About to do 3500 miles on the freeway, longest trip by far, so I'm going to curious to see how it really does. Driving form Phoenix to Chicago and back again, so much of it will be flat except for AZ and parts of NM.

As for how to improve on 19, some other details might help, such as modifications, gears, miles, etc. I'm getting 21+ with a lot of modifications and added weight (this is with the roof rack removed, with the rack I'm betweem 19-20), so a stock JK, should get as good, if not better. Maybe new plugs & wires are in order, run some Seafoam or similar product to clean things out and replace all the fluids. It's amazing what doing all that will do to make things run smoother.

For the last 3000 miles, I have averaged 19.1 mpg by the calculator and the dash says 19.0. This is for city and hwy combined. I do live in the mountains and do not do much stop and go in the city. Best trip mpg was 23.6, pretty much all fwy. I am happy as a witch in a broom factory! (auto w/3.21, stock sra tires)

My 3.6 gets 15.9 @ 70 mph with 373's & 34's. I can live with that.

Drive behind an 18 wheeler with a big enough trailer you can tuck behind. Less drag more mpgs.
