Default HELP!!! Upgrading my 2 inch lift and 33's

I have a 2 inch lift now with full suspension. And I have 33's with 17x9 XD Rockstars. Wanted to go bigger and higher and needed to know exactly what is in store. Besides lift kit bigger tires and maybe wheels. Do I need to change my gears? If so to what? Do I need to change my tire carrier? Can I use the quick disconnects I have now? Will I need more horsepower? If so what???? It's my daily driver but weekend warrior on the dirt. Please help still new to upgrades. 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited

How big do you want to go? What's your budget? Do you have a tire carrier now or just the stock carrier? New gearing will be a personal preference, not something you necessarily need to do right away. Lots of questions to answer but on the bright side, you won't need to change wheels!

Have you checked the stickies in the modified section yet? Lots of good info there to review.

Yea I have the stock carrier now and it fits my 33's no problem. Was honestly thinking about going up to 37's. I didn't want to get any ideas if I did 35's and want 37's a year down the road. So it would actually be great if I could keep my wheels.

Click on the link at the bottom of my signature. Lift has nothing to do with gears and 33" tires should not require a re gear.

With the 3.8 motor in your 2011 you'll want to regear asap with 35-37s. With 37s you'll want 5.13-5.38 gears which is to small of a pinion for the front dana 30. You'll want to upgrade to a d44 minimum. 35s are about as big as you safely wanna go with the d30. Sum of ppl run bigger with no prob but others bust stock so yep. Got to the top of the modified section and read my thoughts on lifts by dirtman. It's a must read

Yes, bigger tires should be matched with proper gears if performance is an issue with you. You can simply google "my thoughts on lifts" and the thread will come up. Not sure why you can't click the white link at the bottom of my sig. You on a phone?

My 2011 JKU sport was running 37"s with 5.13 gears. That seemed to be right on the money. Sleeve and gusset the Dana 30 and as long as you don't have a lead foot off-road the Dana 30 will hold up. I was running RCV axles to after I broke a u joint. No issues after the switch to RCVs.
