Hard Top Mount Rack Owners
Just a quick question for all of you who have put rack mounts on your hardtop. (Yakima, Thule, etc)
I know some of you have had these on for a quite a while, and I'm just checking in to see if you've seen any issues with the racks and stress on the hardtop.
I'm really thinking about hauling a canoe, or an enclosed box for gear.
I'm mainly concerned about side stress created by windshear across a canoe, or possibly lift stress created by the same.
What kind of issues have you seen if any, and do you still like the solution you set up.
Which solutions did you use?
Any issues thus far?
pics always appreciated.
thanks in advance

I don't haul a canoe, but this MBRP rack is just fine !!
It'll support from 500 to 900 lbs and even makes it easy to LIFT hardtop off the JK, I haven't set up my Hoist yet-I will in the next two weeks
MBRP is adding units to this Rack, for full length and forward lights, so check their website for details (mbrpinc.com)

Nothing on this?
I've seen quite a few threads where people have put racks directly on their hardtop. I'd really like to know how well they've held up over time.
thanks

Here is a thread that has several options in it. You may want to check out the Kargo Master Congo cage on post # 87. They are pretty reasonably priced.
Let's see your racks!
