I got both tops with mine, but if I had to choose one it would be the soft top just for the ease of taking it off and putting it on without help

Living in Socal, i must say my soft top is down 11 months of the year. So my vote goes to No Tops!

I went with a hard top only. I tend to get skin cancer instead of tan, so the sun is no friend of mine. Temps here in Santa Clarita get into the high 90's and low 100s in the summer. I tend to wheel buttoned up with the A/C on. I also like the security of a hard top.

I was looking for soft top only, but ended up buying one with the hard top only (got a great deal). I think that option was somewhere around $700. A month after I had the Jeep, I couldn't stand the hard top anymore, so I sold it for $1,700 and bought a soft top for $550. I came out ahead in the end!

For me, I don't feel like I'm in a Jeep unless I have a soft top. My Tj had a soft top and never once did I want a hard top for it. I'm glad I had the opportunity to use the hard top for a month, because now there is no doubt in my mind that I don't like it.

From the back, the factory hard top looks to blocky . . . like a huh . . . like a huuh. . . like a huuu. Well I can't say it.

I've seen thieves tape up a piece of rebar etc and break out side windows to achieve the same thing as slitting a soft top. Damage is damage in a theft attempt.

I am in Texas, go toplees most of the time, soft top up when I have to. Hard top too much of a PIA to store for the little bbit that I would use it.
Had a Sidekick with both tops, Hard top took up too much space in the garage as it was only on for 2 months a year
