Had to share my air filter story

Unless you are prepard to go through a proper cleaning regiment after each time you wheel in dusty conditions don't bother with the K&N.
Factory or after market stock replacments are the best. Just throw out the old and drop in the new.
Remember if it flows more air it flows more dirt.

I've had K&Ns in most of my vehicles, so my cleaning was limited because they were on the street. I was talking to another member about limited power with the diesel foam seal, and he suggested checking my filter. It was NASTY! A couple trips to Wharton (mud puddles) and Rausch Creek (just mud) closed the filter pretty good.
I gave it a good cleaning and reoil. Power is back.
Pay attention to that last line about off road and dusty conditions for increased cleaning times.
