Anyone have a Hero 3? How do you like it? I can get one for free but have been told it's not that good. I was told to get a 3+ or a 4. Thoughts, or any input appreciated. Thanks

 

I have the 3plus and love it. idk the difference in the 3 and 3plus

 

I wonder what "it's not that good" means. I have some really old GoPros, and while the video from them doesn't rival that from my multi-thousand dollar HDSLRs, it is still pretty good. Check out some of my videos at YouTube DigitalByDoiron and I think you'll agree.

 

The difference between 3 and 3+ is minimal. I think 3+ is a bit thinner and battery last a bit longer. If you are talking about hero 3 black, you will not notice the difference between 3, 3+, or 4

Unless you are really into cameras and photography (which i am guessing no because of the question you are asking) then the difference between the two will not even be noticable to you.

 

Is it the white, silver, or black edition?
In the black editions nothing has changed between the 3s and 4s
I have the hero3 black and love it. 120fps 12mp things awesome
The silver edition is still an amazing camera as well. Shoots just as good as the black only you can't set it to 120fps

The hero 4 silver has a scream on the back and more MP but other than that there isn't much dif

I have the Hero 4 Black and use 1080 with 30 or 60 fps and it is awesome. I shot some video in 4K and it takes up some serious space!!

I would say take the free one, try it and see if you like it. I you find that you do, then maybe you upgrade and pay it forward by giving this one to another Jeeper.

My hero3 silver has a screen too. It's detachable, though.
