goodbye jeep

All I know that is cost me $130 to fill up my Diesel the other night. My Jeep cost me $60. I'm driving my Jeep to work more now cause my truck is too much. And yes, we drive my Wife's Jetta too.
If I ever bought a Jeep that got good mileage, I would probally lift it and ruin that quite quickly.

Lucky for me having a Jeep does have a perk, my job let's me telecommute more often when gas prices get high. It's about 3 gallons of fuel a day in my current TJ (15 mpg) But when the snow falls here in NE Ohio I have no excuse not to show up when all other can't.
I think I'd rather find a job closer to home than give up having a Jeep.

Jeeps will continue getting lousy mileage because of turds like the ones on this thread who continue to tell Chrysler that mpg's are not a priority. Look no further than threads like this one for clarity on why the JK isn't offered a more efficient powertrain like a diesel. The stupidity is mindboggling. The stupidity of your consumerism is interfering with a very real 30mpg JK.

Say it with me-
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage
I bought a Jeep because I like to go off roading and last time I checked a TDI will not do that. Have fun with that. I will keep driving and enjoying my Jeep no matter what the gas prices are.

good choice with the TDI. Glad you still have yours.
I just ended up buying a cheap daily to make up for the price. I drive 60 miles a day. So this way the jeep sits in the garage and only gets used on the weekends, and the daily gets beat to sh*T!

That was my plan too, but holy crap there are no cheap dailies left! Economical beaters are going for a lot! I was planning on getting a project Geo Metro and have fun trying to squeeze crazy mpg's out of it but they're going for several grand here in the Bay Area. Unbelievable.
