Move to jersey and keep the wrangler. Only 3.35 gal. A bit pricey in my opinion

To get better mileage, you gave up: convertible, 4WD and good looks.

I've been getting 19 MPG out of my 2010 Wrangler Unlimited 4WD and it's only got 2,000 miles on it; it may improve with more miles, but I'm satisfied regardless.

Say it with me-
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage
I did not purchase a Jeep for the mileage

I bought a Jeep because I like to go off roading and last time I checked a TDI will not do that. Have fun with that. I will keep driving and enjoying my Jeep no matter what the gas prices are.

Give the guy a break. He still has one Jeep.

Edit: I'm glad I only have one Jeep then I don't have to share mods with my wife

Installed bumper, winch, rails, aux tranny cooler and new headlights this weekend. Threw away the air dam. Drove it to a local Sunday afternoon festival checking the instant mpg along. Told my son it looked like we were gonna lose about 1.5 mpg, My boy looked at me and said, "Dad we didn't buy the Jeep for mpg!" Boy is going to become a Jeeper he's got the right outlook.
