Pretty sure it wasn't within the last 6 months. I got an absurd deal on my Rubicon last December, but its not worth mentioning because you can't find a deal anywhere near that now.

I certainly wouldn't want to read about it if I was currently in the market for a new JK.

If this is a new vehicle the Lifetime Warranty still applies.

$25k is probably a good deal, specially if JK production is halted due to lack of parts, but check what vehicles are sold for in your area at truecar.com.

I got mine during the massive rebates and price slashing. $6,700 off MSRP. I think sales are slumping enough now that they could knock off a couple more bucks. It's worth a try. Offer them 20K even and settle at 20,750.

May was when I bought it. I told them what I would pay for it, and I had my financing ready to go. They knocked off to "as low as they can go". So i told them if they can get my magic number, to call me. And I left, no games. They called in an hour with the "go ahead", i showed up and bought my Jeep! They ended up giving me $2000 extra for what I owed on my truck, to get my price where I wanted it. I think the only incentives was $1000 off at the time, and $500? for loyalty because my wife drives a Dodge Caliber. No clunker deal, nothing "crazy" on advertised discounts". It was sitting in the showroom waitin on me!

I did just that, I said that the Jeep wasn't exactly what I was looking for and it had options that I though that I'd never need. I offered them 20K and they countered at 20,750. I feel that this is a good deal so I put a deposit down on it and finished payment today.

What I really wanted was a Jeep Wrangler X 2 door, manual transmission, 23S package, half doors, in either Sunburst Orange or Rescue Green.

What I got was Flame Red with 3.73 Axle Ratio, Trac-Lok, Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows, SIRIUS Satelite Radio.

I guess i can live with the color!!! We will see how well the Trac -Lok works.

Future upgrades:

2" BB Lift (Any brand? Or are they all the same?)
Goodyear DuraTrac 285/75R18 Tires (Will I need spacers with factory alloys?)
Shrockwork Front/Rear Stubby Bumpers and Sliders

The Teraflex 2.5" coil lift is pretty inexpensive and IMO better than a BB.

Think about a smaller rim size 16" and some steel wheels (Cragar Soft 8's) and you won't need spacers. The tires will be much cheaper the smaller the rim size and the steelies won't cost much more than a set of spacers...

Shrocks make some quality stuff, just may have to wait a while.

"Chrysler will idle its Toledo Supplier Park facility for one week starting Monday, the company said in a statement Friday without disclosing more details. The Wrangler has been one of the best performing vehicles in terms of sales for the year."
Quote from the WSJ on 10/6/2009

My thoughts are if Wranglers are selling well and they are having production problems then demand will go up even more and as a result so will price, so maybe $25K OTD is a decent deal.
