I have to admit my wife blatantly stole my JKU and I almost never get to drive it. 
Since my 08, is paid for now I would be more than happy to visit my favorite Jeep dealer again, but Jeep does not have any military colors, so I will wait and hope for better colors next year. I have been praying to the Jeep Gods for a nice military green!

gecko is cool but i think it would get old by payoff time.

I actually agree with you but on all the new colors they came out this year.
Not a fan of natural green but the jeep green was the best green they came out with.
People with different taste makes the world more interesting.
Oh sorry to say I don't think mango tango falls under the bright category..
Every color looks bright when the sun beams on it but mango tango is a burnt orange.

Good news: you don't have to buy one! 
Actually, on balance, the 2012 color palette is pretty conservative. I think the presence of Crush and, now, Gecko kind of skews peoples' impressions. Dozer is a pretty mellow yellow (much mellower than Detonator), and Black Forest Green and Winter Chill are about as conservative as it gets. The rest are standard JK colors.
Standard:
Bright White
Bright Silver
Black
Flame Red
Deep Cherry Red
Dozer (I'm putting it here because Jeep traditionally offers yellow and Dozer is a fairly conservative yellow)
Conservative:
Black Forest Green
Sahara Tan (no longer available)
Winter Chill (no longer available)
Hippie:
Crush
Gecko
Cosmos Blue (no longer available)
