I have 255/75 R17 tires and 4.10 gears with a six speed manual. I drive a little over 40 miles each way to work, half highway and half back roads. I take it easy and don't get a heavy foot. This is the MPG I have been getting since I brought my Jeep home.

I recently went on a long trip, all highway, and averaged just over 20MPG driving at 65 to 70 mph.

No, because so many people bitched about it, the took away the 4 door, put leaf springs on all corners, put the turn signals back on the fenders, removed power windows, locks, steering, and the automatic transmission. Also, it doesn't come with the 3.8, instead it comes with the 4.0.

Yes, they will all look the same except you can't get light greystone, and can get detonator yellow. All the rest of that stuff wasn't true either.

I have an X with 3.21 6 speed manual. I do around 60 miles highway and 10 miles city every day to work. I average between 18.5 and 19.5. This is actual milleage. I have been keeping it on my PDA for the last 10,000 miles. I did notice a sharp drop with the rag top down. One tank full was down to 17.5 MPG. It doesn't seem to matter if you have the windows open or closed with AC on. My mileage is about the same 18.5 - 19.5. I'm also a heavy foot individual. If I relax on the pedal, I do get better MPG. Soom tanks were in the 20.5 range.

But I fear the the new wheels will leave a endless hole in my pocket, could you guys give me an estimate on what MPG you get with different size tires?

Wrangler X 17-19 MPG

30" -?
32" -?
07 JK Rubicon, 4 door, 6 speed manual, 4.10 gears, 3 inch lift, 35-12.50-17 tires on 17x9 wheels. best tank 21 MPG. average, (with 75% driving in town) 16.5. I have about 3k miles on her now, and milage improves every tank so far. Jon
