Default Gas Milege

After 3,100 miles I'm getting a Firm 16 plus mpg in town and a Firm 19 mpg plus highway. The best was 21.5 mpg highway.
This is an Unlimited auto/ 4.10 .

My TJ never saw more than 15.5 on the highway.

What part of Texas are you driving in? What would you say your speed is on the highway, Do you drive 70, 85 etc?

I am still trying to decide between the 3:21 and the 4:10.

Thanks

4.10 is simply the only way to go unless you're already planning on regearing as soon as you get it.

My mpg is consistently around 21. I drive 22 miles to work, and about 3 miles of it is through a small town, otherwise it is open 2 lane road. On the interstate it will get up to around 22. I have the x with 4.10 gears and goodyear AT tires. I try to keep my rpms around 2000. If I go much higher than that, the mpg seems to decrease quite a bit. 6300 miles on the odometer.

The 19 mpg highway is at 75.mph (plus) and high wind.
The 21.5 was at 65 mph and 0 wind.
16 mpg are short trips less than 8 miles. with some jackrabbit starts.

Thanks,
Jim

I have done the mpg by hand and compared them to the computer, and each time it was very close...off by less than a 10th of a mile.

Cool 3.21

I don't see too much a diiference compared to my 3.21. I get 22.9 on Highway and about 20 in the city. All hand calculated, no A/c yet, about 6000k, stock 17" tires, live about 7300 in altitude and have real crappy gas using the octane 85 for all the granola tree huggers. I commute about 60 to 70 miles daily and will eventually put some 33s. Still waiting to see the best deal for new gears like 4.88 aftermarket or used 4.21. Hope that helps,,
