Default Front axle u-joint issue! 🤔

Anyone have a problem sourcing axle joints? I've ordered replacement joints from two different sources for my 2012 JKU Sport. Both times the joint "length" was too short. I figured they would be a pretty standard item. Very frustrating. The failed joint is a Spicer but there are no numbers on the joint body or cap ends.....

Are you ordering the 5-760x or the 5-7166x? It seems that Jeep made the switch in late 12 so you could be caught in the cross fire here.

I went with a local auto parts store and they gave me a Moog brand 377 and then Rockauto sent GMB brand 215-0297, both were too short.
Are those numbers you mentioned Spicer brand numbers?

They are Spicer numbers. If I'm remembering right, the 0297 is an early iteration of the 5-760x. Are you sure the ears aren't bent out on the yokes?

The "new" joints are significantly shorter than the failed joint and there doesn't appear to be any deformation of the yokes. Maybe the second Spicer number mentioned is the longer style.

5-7166x may be the one I'm looking for.

I'm going to try and source the 5-7166x, but check the dimensions of the joint before purchasing.
Thanks for the information. I now have something to go on.
Cheers

Thanks. 5-7166x u-joints are what I needed. I installed them this morning and the old girl is mobile again. 👍
