Question Ripped sidewall

I know this is an old thread, but my problem is related...

I was off-roading on some old logging trails this weekend, nothing major, and I punctured the sidewall going over a small tree branch! The tires are the 32" Goodyear stocks that come with the S-package. I have only 3500 miles on them (and the Jeep all together)! Anyone know what the warranty is for this when it's straight from the factory?

Be hard to find a shop to fix it. Be a good spare if you got it vulcanized or tubed (like someone already said)

Look at your paperwork, it might be under warranty. Might want to check your insurance policy as well, they may cover tires (depending on policy). I went with a "Road Hazard" coverage program at the time of purchase for additional costs ($500) which covers both wheels & tires up to $1200 total. I've already used it on a Goodyear 32" stock tire with a lot smaller puncture on the sidewall than pictured above. The dealer just simply mounted a new tire on without problems.

Just a heads up, if you do discover you are under warranty, you may want to omit the fact that it occured while you were off-roading. Look over your exclusions to warranty repair prior to taking it in. On mine, had it occured while conducting off-roading activities, it would have prevented me from having it fixed per policy.

Thumbs up

When I've purchased replacement tires, I've always gotten a road hazard warranty in addition. But I wasn't sure what's included when it's right off the lot.

Yeah, I figured that it would be best to exclude exactly what kind of "road" I was on. Hopefully the fact that I have no off-roading specific mods on her with keep their level of suspicion to a minimum.

Thanks for the input.
