Default FINALLY! Half-Doors Are Installed!

I received my Bestop/Highrock Element Door Kit last week, and just finished installing it about an hour ago. I was having the Enclosure Panels painted by a local Body Shop, and just picked those up Friday.

I'll post some pics tomorrow, but I'm REALLY happy with the way they turned out. Much, much cheaper that the Factory Half Doors, and they look just as good to me! I ordered everything through Quadratec, and it all came in within a week. The kit I ordered was:

- Highrock Element Tube Doors w/Upper Door Windows
- Highrock Element Door Bags
- Highrock Element Enclosure Door Panels

I transfered the Stock Mirrors from the Full Doors to the Half-Doors, and they fit perfectly. I attached the Door Bags to the inside of the Doors, so I'll have a little extra room for light storage items. After Adjusting the Upper Door Windows, and the Latches, it all fits great.

If anyone else is thinking about going with the Half-Doors, I highly recommend them!

Cheers!

Take pictures of the big gap around the bottom of the door and let us know how they perform in the wind or rain.

I hope for you that they dramatically changed them since my old ones.

GAP??? On the Outside or the Inside? I didn't notice any gaps on the outside at all. Looks Factory. I did have gaps on the inside after I installed the latches, but then I realized I forgot to install the Weather Seal Strips. After I did that, no gaps!

I'll be posting some pics in a couple of days, when it stops raining here. I'll make sure to get some of the bottoms for you as well. Now's a good time to check for water leaks with the doors and the Upper Door Windows, since we've got rain.

Cheers!

Congrats, is it that much more cost effective than the factory set-up?

I was talking about both really. Most noticeable on the outside. It was like the curve was not the same as the door and there was a gap big enough to stick your finger through (with the weatherstripping installed). I had problems with mine blowing out at the top over 25 mph also. The latches were also a POS pain in the ass. And they rattled.

I sent them back. They were unusable.

Still Raining pretty hard, so I snapped a few Garage Pics for ya:

SALTMAN: The third pic is the bottom of the door from the outside. I'll get some pics of the inside for ya, when I can get it outside in the sunlight (looks like Friday, according to the Weather-Guessers...).

997S4KEN: After weighing the cost of the Bestop Kit, the River Raider Aluminum Doors (Without Upper Door Windows), and the Factory Doors (With Upper Door Windows), I opted for the least espensive. Maybe in a few years if the prices drop, or if I get lucky and find an inexpensive set, I'll buy the Real-Deals, and keep the Bestops for a backup set. Here is the Price Breakdown of all three:

Bestop: Half Tube Doors, Upper Door Windows, Half Door Enclosers (Including Painting), Door Bags - $1,092 Inc Shipping.

River Raider: Half Doors only - $1,399 (Factory Upper Door Windows that would fit, would be around another $500.) Plus Painting!

Mopar (Factory Doors): Half Doors and Upper Door Windows - $3,400 Plus Painting!

Cheers!
