Extended Warranty.....yes or no....2008 JK
I bought a 2008 JK about 2 months ago with 37k miles. I read a few threads about the engines going boom. This makes me wonder if I should pull the trigger on a warranty. Any thoughts??? It'll cost me about $2k for the warranty.
Thx in advance....

I have one for the next 36k miles for $2500. I haven't used it yet, but my mother and father have used extended warranties for new transmissions and shocks and other expensive things. It's nice to pay a $200-500 deductible as opposed to larger amounts. Word of advice: If you have little things that break and you can live without (i.e. window motor) wait until something else breaks to take it in. The deductible will cover multiple items needing to be fixed/replaced!

I paid $2500 incorporated into my payment for a 5 yr/100,000 mile extended warranty, which I am about to use for the first time to get my A/C blowing cold again! $100 deductible though.. Still good to know that's all I have to pay for repairs.. My warranty covers everything except the clutch.

I too got the extended service contract. Cost be about 2700 or so for the lifetime warranty incorporated into my loan. If you do plan on getting it make sure you purchase it here
jeep.com/en/service_contracts/
Or the dealership.
the other websites are third party contacts I believe

Bought mine combined w/ my payment from the friendly local GMC/Buick dealership. I made sure to discuss w/ a service manager my plans on a lift and tires in the near future. He said that would not affect my warranty except for the specific part replaced by my lift 'n tires. My warranty is obviously not a Chrysler warranty. However, I saw this a positive thing. For one, it was not expensive and low deductible. Secondly, it's not directly from a dealership/car company. Therefore, the dealership isnt' losing anything by doing repairs on my car. They just bill it to the warranty company. To me, this made me comfortable a/b doing mods to my jeep. The dealership I bought from has a good service department.

I got the Chrysler Maximum Care 7 year 100000 miles with a 0 deductible for about $2,500 Just be fore my base one ran out!
I have had it at the dealer a bunch of times so it paid for it self all ready! Last year my front elocker locked up Fixed.. I have had new starter, Radiator, fan & motor, GPS, Clock Spring, Window switches and a bunch more stuff fixed.. I like it better than a after market so I don't have to wait for a adjuster to come out it is just fixed. Be care full if you have a lift and big tires most after market will not pay!! I had that problem on my last rig!
