Default Dumped by insurance company

I got a letter in the mail today telling me that my policy will not be renewed because as they put it, my jeep " has been customized for off road driving and does not meet the guidelines under the family auto policy contract." Has anybody ever heard of this? I guess I should have just payed out of pocket for a new windshield, didn't think that this would happen. I have not contacted them yet and plan to tommorrow. I may be shopping for a new policy soon.

Sux! Be sure to cancel all other policies with them too. You can play dirty too!

This wouldn't bother me in the least. Go find a good independent agent and let them find you the best price.

There are plenty of companies that will take you. I talked with my agent when I renewed, the only restrictions are no racing, no competitions, and no high speed off-road. State Farm

Was with geico, I was going to give them a call to see if they will work with me, if not I will go someplace else. I'm not really concerned about it, I have just never heard of anything like this.

Yuck! Geico....once I was no longer living with my parents and under their insurance I went with Progressive. Much cheaper and have never had an issue.

I will never go with progressive simply because of their ownership.

They treated me well until now. Progressive is more expensive for me.
