I'm no stranger to 4x4 and big snow but this is my first winter with the Xtreme M/T's. The Xtremes steer well on the snowpack roads and slippery conditions. Not enough snow to test them in the deep stuff yet. Last spring the factory Dueler A/T's were only good to about 1 1/2 feet of snow before they lost traction, not enough tread depth to paddle through.

I had my stock BFG KM's siped and that made a huge difference on ice. It's an inexpensive alternative to buying new tires.

tested out my terra's in the snow on the way home a few hours ago, about 3" on the road here and the only time i broke traction is when i gunned it to try to break traction and even when i did the esp did it's job but braking from 35+ was fine as long as i didn't slam on the brakes, it felt very safe. i got the snow that i wanted

I've also run the Silent armor's on a couple vehicles and I think they're great.
I ran 58,000 miles on the Liberty, and bought a new set a few weeks ago. I also had a GMC Canyon that I had a set on for 36,000 miles (then I sold it for the JK). These tires last, ride smooth, but they handle great in anything other than REALLY stupid mud. I don't need 4wd half the time because of how much grip we get.
I'm seriously trying to figure out a good reason not to put a set of these on the JK once I can afford tires. Right now my list of possibilities includes: Silent armor's, BFG AT, or BFG KM2. I'm looking at 285/70/17. Can anybody talk about how the KM2's handle in the snow and ice? They've got more siping than the Firestone Destination MT's, and I couldn't afford the Toyo MT.

i just spent 12 hours driving I70 across colorado on snow packed roads to the point they shut down the highway and i had to turn around and go back home. (ACCUMULATED TIME) i have the KM'2s. Honestly i was really really nervous about the thought of this drive with these tires but it wasnt bad at all. my GF and i were really suprised how well they hooked up for a mud tire in the snow. i did keep it in 4x4 most the time. im not one to waite and see how far i can go until i iput it into 4wd. out here if you break loose it could be off into a 3k foot deep canyon.
