Drives great with the O/D off!
My girlfriend an I took a 3 hour ride tonight with the doors and windows off. Most of the ride was 55mph highway driving through winding roads and mountains. With the o/d off my Jeep has some great power and runs nice and smooth. I really couldn't be happier with it.
I'm thinking about regearing to 4:88'S next spring when I have the money, just so I can get my o/d back. It would be nice for when I'm on the interstate. Right now my o/d is nearly useless on the interstate.

OD off is part of my start up procedure!

And for future reference, when using the RPM chart in the drivetrain faq's, divide the OD On rpm by .69 to get your new OD Off rpm's. Useful when planning new tires and gears.

I really don't think I'll ever go larger than 33's. Larger tires cost more; I'd have to address the extra weight put on the tailgate; and I'd take a bigger hit in mpg's. For my daily driver/weekend wheeler 33's are perfect.
