Let me state that, even though in my opinion their pricing structure is suspect, I did order from them because I was eventually able to negotiate a good price. I am just not a fan of this type of model. However, as long as my order gets here around the time they said (had to special order) then I am happy with them.

Rebel Heart,

We apologize for the issues with your order. We are doing our best to straighten it out. Myself, your salesman, our customer care department and UPS are all working together to make sure you get the product you ordered. Many of you know that the KM2's are a hot ticket right now, many companies are having trouble getting stock. Rebel Heart placed an order with us on April 1st for 5 tires. While we gathered his wheels and tires we were only able to locate 4 tires (the 5 would be on back order). While we waited to ship for the 5th to come (as requested by Rebel Heart) one of Rebel Hearts tires got shipped to another customer. This was our mistake, it never should have left our warehouse, trust me I was heated when I heard about this, as was rebel hearts sale man and our sales management. The mistake was caught by Rebel Hearts sale man who put a stop on the tires delivery and is currently having it returned. The tire is due back to us this coming Thursday and now, by request of Rebel Heart, will be shipped as a set of 4 while we again wait for BFG to fill the last tire in his order. When the, miss-shipped tire, gets to our warehouse on Thursday it will be mounted and balanced on Rebel Hearts wheels and should ship out the same day. (depending on the time it arrives at our warehouse) Rebel Hearts 5 tire is still on order with BFG, his wheel is waiting for it in our warehouse and will ship as soon as BFG can fill his order.

Again Rebel Heart we are sorry for the inconvenience and we are doing everything we can to get you the product you ordered.

As an example I was looking at some Cragar Soft 8s chrome. Most places with free shipping have them for around $73.00, without free shipping you can get them in the mid sixties. When I called DTD they quoted me a price of $125.00 EACH but after the amazing discounts it came done to $105.00 each. After some negotiating with the guy I got them down to $70.00 each (with free shipping). A decent price so I went with it.

When I got on the DTD thread and told the rep I thought their pricing structure was deceptive and I wish they were more straight up with their numbers he told the moderator to remove my posts. I was politely told we are not allowed to say anything negative about a forum sponsor. I wold be very surprised if the this thread makes it through the day.

Overall I got a very shady feeling from this business.
I should first point out that I never requested your posts to be removed. I was wondering why, it looked to me that you hadn’t response to our last response to your post….

To this post of yours.
I am sorry that you have this feeling. I assure you Discount Tire and Discount Tire Direct are some of the most stand up companies in the industry and I say this from personal experience, not because I work for the company. I actually have been in the industry now since the spring of 2004. I started out running my own company and knew very little about wheels and tires. I started buying wholesale tires from Discount Tire and was amazed with the level of customer service they provided to me. They took the time to educate me on wheels and tires and I, at the time, was in a sense, a small competitor. I had the chance to buy from many different vendors and I did but not one of them treaded me as fair as Discount Tire did. They stood behind the products they sold me, they stood behind and took responsibility for any mistake that may have occurred and they made it right. Eventually I got out of my business and naturally looked to my favorite vendor for a job. Now, after almost 1 1/2 years here I can really see the things this company has done for their customers. Some of you may remember when the Ford Explore had all their blowouts with the stock Firestones. When this happened Discount Tire stepped up and offered FREE tires to Ford Explore owners who needed to replace the Stock Firestones. Not discounted. FREE.

All that said this is probably more pointed to your comment.
As an added service to forum members, we try to do our best to order product in that is not on our site if that is what you really want. After all, we really do want you to get the product you desire. (few companies do this) Product brands that you do not see on our site are not in our sales system which means there is no price. In order to get you a price we have to put in a quote request for you. (This is usually based off the price we pay, and we pay more for products we do not stock and have more shipping charges) For product like this we will need your help to make sure we are competitive. If you found that someone is selling the product for less, let us know, via PM, we will do what we can to match the price and if we can't we will tell you we can’t. This product doesn't usually qualify for sales promotions/ discounts we are running but there are some exceptions.

I hope you understand. This is not meant to be "shady" it is just a lot harder for us to do and keep straight. As for the Cragar brand, We are working on getting it into our system with prices so there will be no confusion from one department to another. When the pricing is listed please let us know when we aren't competitive and we will do what we can to get it adjusted.

Hopefully this doesn't mean you are going to purposely pop your tire, as that would be considered vandalism Nickit1981. Here is a link to the details of our: Certificate for FREE Replacement. It covers the tire for any road hazard or manufacture defect for a Free replacement.

Thank you for your support and working with us on this. If you have paid in full you will receive an email when your product ships. Feel free to call your salesman to check on your order status anytime.

The post you are referring to was deleted by a moderator because it was posted in the Sponsoring Manufacturer & Vendor Sub-Forum, which has specific guidelines that do not apply to the rest of the site. This is purely routine and was not done at the request of the sponsor.

I have never dealt with Discount Tire Direct before, but I have personally done business with one of their stores, Discount Tire. I bought 20" rims and tires when they opened a store here in Murfreesboro and coul dnot be happier. Better price than I had found and their customer service is fantastic. If it's not right, take it to them and they will make it right. Thumbs up from me for Discount Tire

I do understand that mistakes happen, I will be happy to right a full retraction if and when I receive the first 4 of my wheel/tire set. I hope the final tire will be shipped when the KM2s are available.

I just know that if I hadn't called when I did, I would be minus one tire. Just lucky that I happened to call the day it was shipped from the warehouse.

Rebel Heart, honestly, I am happy you called when you did too. It was our mistake and we take full responsibility for it. Well make sure you get all 5 as soon as possible.

This has been a great thread to follow. Moderators, thank you for allowing your forum members to express how they feel about one of your sponsors by not deleting it. Sure everyone has their own experience/opinion with businesses but this allows us to see two sides of the story. I have liked the way that DTD has responded to the concerns and because of that will be purchasing my next set of BFG KM2's from them as soon as I need a new set (not to long from now). It's great to see when someone has a concern with a company and how that company handles it. Great job DTD.

Too bad to hear this from what IMHO is a great company to do bussines with...I recently purchased a "package" for my TL, after a week one tire blew up ( they ship the packages with the air pressure at 40 psi and you're suppose to deflate the tires to your car's specs...I never read that)...anyway I received a replacement tire 2 days later and a third tire a week later..which I was never charged for......so now I have a spare tire just in case I blow up another tire so....6 summer tires and 4 rims for under $1300 ...my local Town Fair Tire wanted almost $2k for the same deal....so on that note I say too bad for those who have had bad experiences...
