My 2009 Rubi unlimited with Nav, 6sp, and dual top stickered for just over 35K. I got it for 28.5K. This was right before the bankruptcy and no one knew who, or if anyone would rescue the company. They were also selling Cummins Diesel trucks for 12K off sticker at that same time.

I dont think cash is king....when dealers makes alot of money on the back end of financing. Maybe, the best deal is this...tell them you only have only $3,000 cash down max. Dealer will have to lower price to get you financed..but at a higher % rate and monthly payment. Thats why the dealer keeps the pressure on you for more cash down,so your monthly payments, and % are acceptable to you. Stick to your guns on the down payment. To get your monthly payment down...dealer will have to lower the price even more. The thing is.... you dont really care about the monthlies,or a.p.r., because.... after one or two payments you pay the jeep off. Make sure there are no prepayment penalty, thats why you make a payment or two.

Just bought my 2011 Sahara, auto, dual tops, tow group, connectivity group and remote start. MSRP $31595, invoice $29691. I used the Tread Lightly member affiliate program that allows buying at FFP (aka PP) pricing at 1% under invoice. My price was $29394.
That's about 7% off MSRP. Considering the low inventory levels of the 2011's I figure that's the best you will do around my area unless you qualify for full employee pricing. Even then that is only about 11% ($28281). Hold back is only $925 on the one I bought and I don't see dealers letting that go this early in the model year, especially considering the number of 2010's still out there.

I just read in a reliable magazine that jeep is "freshening" the 2011 Wrangler later this year which will sport the Pentastar. If that's true, should be some pretty good sales on the left over 3.8's.

exactly, furhter to my point...18.5% off in depths of the apocalypse when people were talking about Chrysler ceasing to exist. Again, you can get close to those types of discounts in normal times when a model is ending or a re-design is coming. But, away from that, the best youre gonna do today is about 15% off MSRP.
2010 Rubicon purchased in July 2010 was right at 15% off ( but 0% financing)

I got my dealer to give me a cash discount if I financed through them. I called Chrysler, made sure there was no penalty for paying early, and double checked when I signed the paperwork. A week later I paid it off. Had I given the dealer cash I'd have been worse off.
jamesinmx is correct, and you're ignorant so you claim it's "smoke and mirrors" when you don't understand it.
PS. your lack of math skills have nothing to do with Obama so you can leave him out of it.
