It's ok to get it dirty, but in my book it needs to be cleaned after the fact. It is called care and maintenance.
Dried mud, I don't mean dust,..I mean MUD, is not good for anything. Jeeps do look good all dirty and muddy, but they look good all cleaned up too.
You have to clean it to inspect it and to keep your Jeep in tip top shape for the next trip out to the woods, desert or whatever your flavor of wheeling is.
Thats my opinion anyway.

I'm not afraid to get mine dirty, but I don't abuse it like many think is "cool" to do. I'll also spend hours detailing it to make it look better than new and buff out most of the scratches I've put on it.

Getting under your rig to grease Johnny Joints and torque the bolts on your suspension is no fun at all if there's mud covering everything.

I generally try to hit a place with a pressure washer on the way back from wheeling (or the next day at the latest), and follow up with a nice 6 hour session over the sprinkler to get the leftovers.

I do basic cleaning on the interior, but don't get too worried about it. Mostly I try to keep it organized and free of trash.

As far as waxing / polishing goes....I wear my Rocky Mountain pinstriping with pride. One of these days I will get my rig professionally polished to buff those little buggers out...but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

No matter what i do any vehicle here will get dusty. Within a day of washing it. Now mine is more than others, about once a week i give it a quick wash. Underside is pretty clean.

It seem like every time I wash the Jeep I end up going somewhere that it gets muddy all over again.
Makes me wonder if it preffers to be covered in mud.

I like to keep mine clean, especially the inside. I will wear the dirt on the outside for a little while though.

I clean it if its gotten muddy but not just from daily driving.

Depends. If it's dust/dirt it will stay on for about a week or two before getting cleaned. It it's mud I will wash it no later then the next day -- in the AZ sun it honestly takes a few hours for the mud to ruin your Jeep; it happened to my TJ. My jeep I guess stays relatively clean. But it has plenty of scratches and dings to show it's used when it is clean.

Leave it dirty for like 5 days to a week then clean it, just to get it dirty again, its a crazy cycle but it works...
