The JK is quite comfortable on long trips, but I'm used to driving a TJ all over the country, so it seems like a major improvement. Compared to your Acurua though it will likely feel like a downgrade in highway comfort.

Drove from Chicago to Salt Lake City in one go so I can attest to the comfort of the seat.

I know you have already made up your mind to take the Rubicon. I just wanted to add I have taken my TJ on quite a few long trips without any major discomfort. I'm sure the JK will be much better. Tell the boy congrats.

Did 16 hrs from TX to FL without cruise control and it wasn't too bad. Seat are ok for long trips better then most but after a while anything gets uncomfortable. Going to do a 20-22 hrs drive when I move to AZ in a couple weeks it should be packed full and towing a small trailer so we'll see how it goes. Enjoy th trip!
