my stepson made it thru the Marines bootcamp in S.C. and I'm going to the graduation ....,I'm driving from MA a trip that will be 16 hours and 950 miles...so do I take the Rubicon or my TL ....wife is pushing for the Rubi and I like to please her but I will be doing the driving and well it will be the 1st long trip on the Rubi but not on th TL....any thoughts for those who have spent many hours drving the freeways in their rig..?

I drove about 20 hours in my JK last Christmas and thought the seats were quite comfy.

Did a 2 week camping trip towing a small trailer and drove every day.

Everyone enjoyed it.

The last stint to get home was about 10 hours .

if you are driving down there, off road the whole way, take the jeep.

you already know the TL will be better on the pavement.

More Fun = Jeep.
More Economical = Acura.

Choice is yours.

And congrats to your stepson! That's no easy feat!

The TL is the better vehicle for the highway.

BUT, if you're more interested in whether the JK is a bad highway driver, I'd say no. I've done a lot of highway and it's fine. A bit of wind noise and tire noise, which is to be expected, but it's also fairly comfortable and it's nice to ride a bit high on the freeways.

If that works for you, take the Jeep.
