Default Diesel VS Hemi conversion!

This is just an hypothetical question!
Please feel free to educate me!

If you could do the 2.8 CRD engine conversion in North America (USA & Canada) or even better, the 3.0 CRD...
When cost is not a factor,

1. Which one of the two, has better MPG (compare to the 3.8...)
2. Which one of the two, is better Daily Driver (compare to the 3.8...)

Will you chose to do the Hemi engine conversion, OR the 2.8 CRD !?

Just a question...

Honestly, I'd rather a newer version of the 4bt cummins in one. But just the option of a diesel would be great.

2.8 CRD would be WAY better MPG and for my purposes would be equal drivability to a hemi.

Reason is that the 2.8 CRD in the JK with the 6-speed I have heard MPG in the high 20s (~28) compared to an equivalent 6-speed 3.8 that will give 20 - 21 MPG and compared to a hemi that will get about 15 under the same conditions.

As far as torque (so everyday drivability) goes both the CRD and hemi have roughly the same amount of torque at normal operating ranges (under 3000 RPMs). For fast acceleration the 2.8 CRD peters out around 4000 RPMs whereas the hemi will rev up to 5500 RPMs (giving it the extra ~100 HP compared to the CRD). But for me my engine almost never goes over 3000 RPMs, so both would give me a boost in drivability where I usually keep the engine and the 2.8 CRD would have the benefit of getting 25 - 30% better fuel economy (thus paying for itself over time).

Give me a diesel, anytime. I had a 1984 Isuzu diesel pickup and it was unbelievably strong. It had approx. 200,000 miles on it, when I sold it.

What about the Ripp Supercharger? That seems like a more affordable option.
