Default Diesel swap possibility?

This may be a crazy idea, but does anyone know if it would be possible to get a CRD as a crate motor and drop it in to a US-spec JK? Seems like there would need to be changes to fuel/supply/electrical system but maybe not too extensive -- if you can do a Hemi conversion then this one wouldn't be so bad, right? :p

Also, living in CA you'd probably run into problems passing smog, etc. right? Are the CRD's CARB compliant?

Honestly, I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure they aren't CARB compliant. Having said that, the CRD's are already being made for the JK and are available for sale overseas. Needless to say, having one installed shouldn't be a problem. It's the getting one and being able to run one that's the real problem.
