I got better than a wave
On Saturday I was driving to Jersey. It was nice in Staten Island so the top had to come down. I was on 287 in Jersey the skies openned up. I pulled to the side to put the top up so not to get my seats soaked. A green Sahara unlimited pulled behind me and started putting on my windows. I was shocked.Nice guy we really didn't speak as it was pouring. He just walked away as I said thanks he stated its a jeep thing. I did catch a look at the plate it was Penn. So if you are on here thanks again......Let me know I definately owe you a few drinks

People are still getting use to the JK...don't worry about it. I'll admit I use to be a dick when I had my '06 TJ and never waved to a JK (sorry). Now I have a JK and I give the finger to everyone else who doesn't give me a wave...just kidding. But give it some time. Or deck out your JK and you'll at least get some looks.

I have had my JK a week. I got my Jeep wave returned today. It was from a lady in a modded TJ. She looked surprised when I waved to her, but gave me a big smile and a wave.
Got dissed from a prick in a brand new Redrock Sahara Unlimited. I chased him down and went out of my way to wave, he just looked at me and changed lanes. 2 seconds later a guy in a TJ may have nodded.
That brings my score to 1 wave in 40 or so and a possible nod.
2 kids in the back seat of an Xterra waved to me though.

Still get a good response from older Jeeps. As for JKs, two-door drivers tend to wave (but not as much as older models), four door drivers tend not to. I'm guessing there are a lot of new Wrangler owners now, many in the four-door aren't into the Jeep wave stuff yet.

Here's a wave from OK. About half the folks return my wave around here. But I'm running around with a few obvious mod's that will get their attention (bumper, winch, Hil-lift), and currently have no doors and the safari top on. I'm also not shy about giving a really big wave: I stick my arm out the side of the JK and hold it up high.
