Default Dealer Wants to Buy Back My Wrangler

I get a call today from a local dealer out of the blue asking to buy my 2007 Unlimited X 4wd.
I told him I wasn't really looking to sell it and he said that they were offering 0% financing and would pay "top dollar" (enough to pay off the loan - actually more than I bought it for, used back in 2009).

I am not really interested in selling it unless I drove away in a new 2011 as a trade at the same monthly payment. I have done some mods that I would have to so again but that isn't a big deal.

He said he could put me in a 2011 Rubicon at my current monthly payment... it would add another year on to my current loan.

What is the deal with this? It sounds too good to be true. They must be getting massive incentives to buy these older Jeeps. I am supposedly getting a call back tomorrow from the sales manager with my "deal".

What do you guys think? Anyone else done this? I had a neighbor do this with a Hyundai - she ended up with a newer, nicer model and a lower monthly payment (just added time on the loan).

do you have a lifetime warranty perchance? that could very well be the reason why he wants to buy it back so bad.

It probably had it originally, but like I said.. I bought it used. Maybe the dealer doesn't know this because it is based on VIN? I had the impression this guy had been on the phone all day asking the same question.

Do it dude, that's sounds like a good deal! Especially if your 07 has got a bunch of miles.

Dealers do this all the time. If your happy with your 07 then keep it. If not, then dump it and get the rubi.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Remember, you're dealing with a car salesperson here. Sorry to be pessimistic. I'm just trying to look out for you. Buyer beware.

Anyway, my wife received several mailings from Nissan saying pretty much the same thing about her '07 350Z. Sounds to me like it's just a sales tactic to get you in and get a car sale out of you.

If you decide to take this deal, watch out for some sort of change once you get there.
Also keep in mind, they aren't going to do anything that's not good for them.
