Dealer refuses to release new vehicle for purchase

Sounds like you are getting the run around...go directly to flagstaff or another Jeep dealer that has yours on the lot. Dealerships can get Jeeps from other dealerships, but like others have said, you usually get a better deal if its on the lot.
I bought a Nissan Rogue for my wife and the first dealership would not come down on their price. The salesman actually stood up to shake my hand and thank me for coming in when we could not come to an agreement on price (basically kicked me out). The next day, I went to another nissan dealership and got the exact rogue I wanted for less than I was trying for at the other dealership. Funny part was that they got it from the first dealership...A week later when the first salesman made a follow up call my wife he was speachless to learn that 1. we bought the rogue the day after we were at his place 2. we got it cheaper than we were offering him and 3. our dealership got it from his Its nice when you can get one over on a dealership!!

I ran into a similar situation up here in Maine when I was looking for a Rubi, basically the same configuration you want. I settled on the price but the only ones up here were at a dealer in CT. They also refused to release them (they had 3) as they could sell them at or for more than what they were stickered for due to the scarcity at the time. Your best bet is to call the Flagstaff dealer directly and ask them why they can't/ won't release it. Or take your paperwork from the first dealer and maybe they can beat it if they are a higher volume dealer. Loyalty is only good for Country, family and sports!

Just go up to Planet (Flagstaff) and talk to Jonathan Vance. I just bought my 2010 Rubi. from them and couldn't be more pleased with them. The owner really made me feel like he cared about my business.

Thank you all for your responses. Here is what has gone down:
I told the dealership that I'm tired of their inability to deal with the Flagstaff dealership and one of two things was to happen. 1. the deal is off or 2. I order the exact configuration I want at the same pricing and with the same trade in value for my car. The dealership agreed to do a factory order.
They want a $500 deposit to hold the factory order, I said no. I think part of the problem with the original deal is I am getting the Preferred Pricing through my work which sets the price at 1% below factory invoice. Maybe not as much profit to be gained especially with dealer trades.
The story with the JK is the OWNER of the Flagstaff dealership refused to sell because there were too many miles on the Jeep. He drove it up and back to Las Vegas for the weekend. Then they were to drive it to Phoenix to deliver it to the Phoenix dealership.
Just as well as I didn't want a Jeep with 700 miles on it and they are calling it new!
This way I getting exactly what I wanted on the vehicle, just have to wait 4 weeks. Well see how it goes.

I hope it works out for you. If they are wanting the $500 for earnest money you may consider it. Typically it protects you and the seller. Money has changed hands and because of this, certain legal responsibilities will have to be met. I am not sure about the laws for this in your state, but do a little research on it.

waiting, waiting
Got my title back. Sold my car myself for $2K more than the dealer was offering after getting them up $3000! What a rip dealerships are on trade in's. Just a little work on my part for $5,000! If you don't do your homework you pay through the nose.
Still have two weeks to go before the Rubi is delivered. Waiting is so hard to do.
