That's because TX is great like that.

I have many friends in the Houston area and we always kid NH is little Texas.

Doors off = ok, Right to carry state, etc

You only have to have one mirror in Texas, so with your doors off your rear view mirror suffices.

Actually you have to have 2 mirrors in Texas to pass inspection. It doesn't matter which 2, but they must be there.

Not sure where you heard that, but here is the text from the Texas Transportation code:

TRANSPORTATION CODE

CHAPTER 547. VEHICLE EQUIPMENT

SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
§ 547.602. MIRRORS[0] REQUIRED. A motor vehicle, including
a motor vehicle used to tow another vehicle, shall be equipped with
a mirror[0] located to reflect to the operator a view of the highway
for a distance of at least 200 feet from the rear of the vehicle.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995

I guess we will see how the cops of southern MD are today because I will be taking the doors off soon and haven't relocated the mirrors yet.

As stated before, doorless in MS is fine. Just need to have one mirror that you can see something like 250 ft behind you.....mirror on the windshield works (or atleast that is what I have been told).

Law enforcement usually waves or nods.

Default Doorless

I am a Cop and have been for 10 years now . I have never nor would I ever stop somebody for not having the jeep doors off of the jeep in which they are driving. The vehicle is designed to have the doors off when weather permits. This cop that wrote this completely unnecessary ticket is probably a retarded ass rookie that is trying to use his badge as a show of power and if I was his Sgt. I would put his ass on foot patrol faster than you could spit. I will apologize on behalf of law enforcement around the country for this ticket it isn't much but at least someone has said it. I go doorless all the time and will post pics along with this post. Now that being said if you dont have mirrors on with out doors you are a danger to yourself and other so please buck up and buy some after market mirrors. God Bless SWAT524
