No biggie. Maybe its different there, but here the Walmarts are notorious for less than savory clientel. Probably has alot to do with where the stores themselves are located, I guess. I wouldn't and don't park mine around those stores here, or for instance K-Mart-which has gone downhill in this area as well. But wasn't trying to offend, just offer some advice from my vantage point. And you have more natural teeth than me, so touche

bsack I was at the walmart at Colonial Williamsburg,Va. It is the place where half the extremely well off people on the East coast retire to. The average house in Williamsburg's 'burbs are bringing about $750K. It is definately highend Walmart clientel. Maybe they are trying to run my doushbag jeeper butt out of the area?

We have 3 Wal-Marts within driving range of each other (more but I am talking from here as well the others are much farther from home). 1 I will never go to, 1 we frequent, and the other we go to when in the area. The funny thing is the two I go two has remarkably varried clientel and autitudes from the shoppers. The one we do not fequent as much is my Christmas store due to the fact that people wave at me when I am driving in the parking lot let alone in the store. I cause congestion walking through the place. The one I frequent I rarely get anyone even giving a second glance and everyone seems to be in a hurry. Of course the one we do not go to is in a more run down area near the low income areas. It is not uncommon to see arrests in the parking lot due to fighting and even drugs there.

I have even been to Wal-Marts in several states and have noticed not all stores are the same in merchandise, shoppers, and employees. Some have been just plain dirty while others so pristine and friendly it almost makes you wonder if you are realy in a Wal-Mart. All this goes to show you can't judge a Wal-Mart (or any store) based on the few you have seen because I bet it is not the same everywhere and that sort of generalization causes nothing but trouble.

To the OP I say.... Man that sucks. I wish I could say it will not happen agian but I know sooner or latter in some parking lot somewhere it will.

Way off topic and appologize to Tinman, but lets get real, please don't preach to me about generalizations about Walmart. I am speaking from experience just as you are. If I want to relay info I will. I won't go in em or park near em. Am I going to hurt Walmart business by stating that fact -NO- because there are enough people willing to buy cheap foriegn made crap. I am a big boy, don't need my comments policed, unless Walmart is a sponsor Now back on topic.

I know. Ten years ago someone ran into my two-month old F-150 pick-up in an Albertsons parking lot and didn't have the courtesy to wait or leave a note. The truck was parked way at the end of the row with several empty spaces between me and the next closest vehicle. But, they must have scraped it trying to turn short of the end of the row. They then just left it for me to find with about a 10-inch dent in the metal beneath the bed.

Okay, wondering a bit off-topic, but we have two "new" Wal-Marts near my home. Both opened within a couple months of each other. The one I like to go to has a decent parking lot with good traffic flow, wide lanes, easy entry and exit without being forced to drive by the front of the store. That's why I go to it (both are equally distant from my home). It does not, however, have self check-out lanes.

The other store has a crazy parking lot (as far too many Wal-Marts do--what's up with that?). Entry and exit are across very busy streets in all directions (corner lot), and the curbing in the lot forces you to the front of the store before you can get to decent parking. So I avoid it. But it does have self check-out lanes.

Now (and, please, I intend no offense with this), tell me where the white folk live and where the black folk live. And which parking lot would you rather use?

If you wait till after the 4th or 5th of the month their stamps will be gone. Alarms are necessary these days. Any heart warming stories of someone that has caught someone pics would be nice

In my home town once a waspy community were the average income is
+$100,000 a year. I grew up never locking our front door didn't even have a key and keys were often left in all of our vehicles. Never a problem. Until devolopers started putting all these ($500,000 per home) surveys refered to many as the ghetolands instead of the meadowlands. Home break in went up 85% Population went from 20,000 to 50,000 in ten years people moving from toronto to here. In one lot 8-10 cars dissapear every night from the theatre durring police pressence and bait cars. My insurance agents Denali been stolen 5 times. He said often times an accomplise will be inside watching you followed from the time you park were your alarm code is picked up when you lock it. So if you see anyone maybe watching you in the store the might not be security!

I know where I live there is a Wal Mart about a mile from my house, but it has much more of a hispanic clientel (I worked retail management so yes this is a fact, not a racist opinion before I get flamed), and it seems to be more of the economically depressed people to put it in a PC way, that have a kid on each hip screaming through the whole store. They have the most messed up parking lot, and the self scanners, and are oprn 24 hours. I went there twice, and will never go back.

They also opened a new one on the other side of town that I am more than willing to drive the 15 miles to go to. It is easy to get into and out of, the people who work there are more than willing to assist, the loudspeaker isn't blaring in my ear the whole time, and it is actually kind of peaceful. I think it is kind of strange though since they had to make tons of accomodations to get a building permit, such as hours, store design, entrances and exits out of the parking lot etc...
