I almost always have the soft top on, but I can't bare to give up the hard top. If I ever get rid of the Jeep, it will be a little easier for resale.

I put my hardtop in a small storage unit for most of the year. I only put it on in winter because the hardtop has a rear defroster and it gets COLD up here in PA. If I still lived in TX, I'd just have a soft top.

Even in Northern VA I fail to see the need for a hardtop. If I was in TX I would sell it.

Selling the hard top and trading for a soft seems to be the answer. There are tons of people on here that would love to trade a soft for a hard.

You can probably get away with it in Texas (not sure about not having a garage). But there is no way I would give up my hard top for the winter. My hard top will be going back on in the next week or two.

Don't do it. After having both I prefer the hardtop much more than the soft top. I cracked my old hardtop and had to use my soft top and I couldn't stand it, especially when it rained. Just my opinion. I'd find a place to store it or make a hoist somewhere in your place. Getting a hardtop back is an expensive task if you ever wanted to do so.

List it in the for sale section. But at $1400 it's going to be in your possession a long time.

It's not the only way to go. I went a completely different route. I bought 2 jeeps. One hard top and one soft top. Soft top in -15 degree freezing rain weather is not an option. I love my rear defroster and windshield wiper in bad weather.
