This is really showing my ignorance on the subject, but where would you use a 36mm on the axle assembly? On a related subject I was at this local salvage place at lunch today rummaging through the tools (picked up a couple of this list so I didn't have to raid my garage tools) and I saw a 36mm wrench. The thing is huge. It definitely won't fit in my wrench roll.

You want the socket and not a wrench. Its for that big nut in the center of your rotor. If you axle breaks this socket will allow you to pull it out and change it if you have a spare. If you don't, well pull it out anyway and sick a plastic covered rag down the axle tub to keep the gear oil in the pumpkin. This if for the front axle.

I'd say if you have every socket from 10-21mm in both regular and deep, as well as wrenches for those sizes, you cover just about everything.
x2. If you can get individual sockets at HF, the axle shafts use a 36 MM for the hub.

I personally carry a set of metric sockets all the way from 6 MM all the way up to 36MM (in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 wratchets), vice grips, and wratcheting wrenches. The cubbie comes in really handy...

In addition to the metric, I picked up a 1/4" drive and socket set at ACE that has hex and Torx sockets as well. The thing is light and it covers 99% of the little fasteners on a JK. I also carry a 3/8" Torx socket set for the other Torx heads.

I have been known to carry a cordless impact driver along, with an extra battery...
