I came across this add on Amazon....2007-2012 JEEP WRANGLER HEAT REDUCTION HIGH PERFORMANCE HOOD MOPAR OEM STEEL
I am completely pissed !!! Why on Gods green earth do we have the bird bath ...Ice maker (which is what i am experiencing now in New England) while they are selling the hood that should have made it to production for our MW3's......Does any one have the complaint email because I am fuming that they are now selling this hood and probably will be installing on future model jeeps and we are stuck with these hoods that are nothing but a lawsuit waiting to happen. Just this week we had mild precipitation and I had a block of ice that I could not dislodge stuck on my hood. No sooner that I drive to work and get on the highway and the show begins!!!! the corner of the ice lifts from the wind and projectiles up and over into my windshield !!!!!!WOOA Smack right into it ...thank God it did not crack the glass or make any marks. Here I am wondering what the FK Chrysler ....recall this friggen hood and give us the one that at least was what was meant to be on this vehicle and lo and behold there it is on Amazon of all places Mopar hood!!!! Really!

They should have put some kind of venting on it for drainage, the true AEV hood does.

I know it's not the ideal solution, but why not add some drain/ heat vent holes to it? If that's completely out of the question for you then wax the hell out of it to prevent the water from sticking. Open your hood, give it a tap from underneath, and it should fall right out.

I take it your hood doesn't warm up as quickly as mine.....literally 3-5 minutes and I've got enough heat to break the ice up.

I plan on drilling some holes in the hood fk it! but my point is they are now selling the hood the way AEV intended it to be and they are still putting this ventless bird bath on the Moabs and the other special edition models ?
